WINTER TOURS
Meadow Lake TourStarting at $325/ snowmobile
*Family Friendly* This is a great tour for all snowmobile riders, beginner to experienced, thanks to the terrain and your guide’s ability to cater the ride to your skill level. You’ll start at the Gianinetti’s shop for a brief safety review before driving your vehicle to the trailhead about 20 miles away. The drive takes you along a river, so this is a beautiful way to start your Adventure. Once you arrive at the trailhead on New Castle Buford Road, you’ll get on a latest-model Polaris snowmobile and enter the White River National Forest and ride 17 miles into Meadow Lake, a high mountain lake with breathtaking views of the forest. On your way back to the trailhead you’ll pass numerous overlooks worthy of a picnic lunch and group photos. When the ride is complete, it’s time for you to head to Meeker and rehash your ride with your friends and family over a great meal at one of the town’s numerous restaurants. Want to head out again tomorrow? Book another tour and spend the night at one of Meeker’s excellent lodging options. This is Colorado at its finest and most fun! |
Sleepy Cat TourStarting at $499/ snowmobile
Heading to Colorado? This fabulous, guided tour from Gianinetti’s Powersports Rentals is perfect for those who want to stick to the trails but still enjoy breathtaking views. As with all rentals at Gianinetti’s, riders will meet at the shop for a safety orientation, equipment checkout, and waiver completion. You’ll then drive your car for 13.5 miles to the trailhead. The snowmobile trail itself is approximately 30 miles roundtrip. This tour begins at Yellowjacket Trailhead. From here, you’ll ride your Polaris snowmobile into the White River National Forest and enjoy the scenery as you ride along beautiful trails through aspen and evergreen trees. Intermediate-level trails will take you through narrow forest trails, by open parks, and near snowy peaks. The views near Sleepy Cat Peak provide a great location for a picnic lunch or group photos. Some say that Sleepy Cat Peak looks like a sleeping cat—see if you agree! Finish off your day by hitting the hot tub at the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation Center, or head straight to one of Meeker’s lovely dining spots. Several local lodging options are available just a few doors away. |

Starting at $515/ sled
This Gianinetti’s Powersports Rentals tour is for experienced snowmobile riders only. Riders will meet at the shop for a safety orientation, equipment checkout, and waiver completion. Since the starting point of this tour is located 30 minutes from the shop, you’ll drive your car to the trailhead, where you’ll meet your guide and get on the Polaris snowmobile that will be yours for the day. The drive to the trailhead follows along a river and is a beautiful way to start the day. Once at Long Lost Trailhead, you'll enter Colorado's White River National Forest on the Flat Tops Scenic Byway and enjoy dense evergreen trees. The views near Sand Peak or Pagoda Peak provide a great location for a picnic lunch or group photos. Throughout the day, plan on covering 30 to 40 miles, with the elevation ranging from 7,500 to 10,500 feet. (If traveling to Colorado from at or near sea level, please allow your body to acclimate to elevation a day or two prior to the ride to avoid altitude sickness.) Advanced, backcountry terrain will take you through narrow trees, by open parks, and near snowy peaks. Finish off your day at one of Meeker’s great restaurants (Ma Famiglia has fabulous Italian food), or enjoy the hot tub at the Eastern Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation Center. Several local lodging options are available just a few doors away. |
